Kayla and Eddie visited the Niagara County SPCA. This is where they met their current pet. Atlas. Atlas is a combination of a Neapolitan Mastiff/ Catahoula Mountain dog. This dog came with the name of Turkey because he was brought in on Thanksgiving Day. Once Eddie and Kayla adopted this dog, they chose the name Atlas. The mythological meaning of the name Atlas is “God of strength and endurance!’
Atlas was 5 months old and they adopted on December 14th which just so happened to coincide with an anniversary for them. Kayla smiles when she talks about the creek at the back of their property. Atlas loves to run back there and he’ll spin around in circles and splash in the water. They will take their ATV to the creek and Atlas herds them back into their yard! Kayla and Eddie bring Atlas at least five times a week to the dog park. They talk to him or whisper dog park and he gets excited because this is his happy place.
Both Kayla and Eddie are nurses at Wyoming County Community Hospital. Currently, Eddie is continuing with his education as he is an LPN and he will graduate as a RN. Kayla is an RN and her current hobbies include sewing, crafting, and cooking. She recently met another woman at the dog park who loves to do the same. So now they have formed a relationship. Both Kayla and Eddie enjoy taking road trips into the Adirondacks where they got engaged and they will be getting married there next September! Wishing you the best of course and I hope Atlas is the ring bearer!
When asked what we could do to improve the dog park they mentioned a splash pad. Kayla feels this is the best dog park. Eddie and Kayla were at the park one day when there was an incident. Both of them jumped in to help. Thank you both. It was great to have you there! Both have decided they’d love to help and volunteer for events for the dog park. They both work every other weekend so it may be difficult for them at times but they’re there for us! Thank you so much, Eddie and Kayla, and Atlas of course.
