Debbie and Willow

How many of you have been to the Bark Park about 9 or 10:00 in the morning? This woman, Debbie comes to the Bark Park with her Great Dane, Willow. Believe it or not, Willow is still a puppy at 10 months of age! Debbie and Willow have one personality trait in common. They like to greet people when they come to the Bark Park.

Willow greets dogs and people at the gate when they come in. Once the individual passes Willow’s test (😂 )Debbie gets a chance at meeting you. She greets you with a smile and welcomes you to the park. She usually finds something in common with everybody and is very easy to talk to. Debbie has been coming to the park basically every day since this spring. She is retired and maintains her LPN licensure as she takes joy in being an instructor for CPR and first aid. She is fond of gardening, NASCAR racing, the NFL, cooking, and freezing foods.

This early fall Debbie was making pickles from cucumber and zucchini. She was pleased to share them with anyone in the park that was interested. Debbie is actually waiting for her third great-grandchild to be born! She also has seven grandchildren. One of her grandchildren, Jordan, who is 12 years old, attends the park with her when he’s not in school. Jordan is very respectful and Debbie has taught him numerous values. He’s eager to help and has picked up an abundance of apples that had fallen overnight or he used to help get the water for the pools, and he loves to play with the dogs in the park.

When asked what Debbie would like to see in the park, she stated more benches. This seems to be a common theme to almost everyone we’ve talked to. Debbie would also like to see some fundraisers at the park such as a baked goods sale on a Saturday morning or selling homemade dog treats! You will see her everyday sweeping stones in different areas of the dog park. She says it’s the least that she can do to help out. Being very social as she is she enjoys the social aspect while the dogs are playing. Thank you Debbie for all you do to help us! You are great at picking up apples too!
